Environment Design / Bachelor of Interactive Spatial Design

WEEK 1:

Environmental design requires a lot of drawing practice, and you need to conceive and draw on paper before building the model. In this class, I saw a lot of basic practice drawings for environmental design, and the teacher led us to focus on practicing one-point perspective and two-point perspective.

WEEK 2:

This is the second environmental design class, and this time we practiced on paper. At first, the teacher asked us to draw a grid on the paper, and gave us a little challenge to calculate the side length of the divided grid, which was "a piece of cake" for me. Then the teacher gave us a demonstration of how to draw a perspective object, and assigned another task, the left grid drew eight basic objects. The right side copies the object on the left and adds or subtracts the object. It's not hard for me, I enjoy the process of painting, it keeps me immersed.

WEEK 3:

This week, the teacher extended the content of the last two classes on one-point perspective and two-point perspective, and demonstrated their applications in actual painting.

Then the teacher asked us to find some architectural pictures, put them on Canva, and according to the method of drawing grids learned in Exercise 1, divide them into 12 squares and draw 12 different designs. Then use six for one-point perspective and six for two-point perspective, which really improved our painting skills.

WEEK 4:

These are six one-point perspective drawings and six two-point perspective drawings. Because other subjects have also started their first projects, there are many tasks this week, but I have tried my best to complete them. At the same time, in order to enrich the pictures, I also went to the website to learn how to draw plants and added plants to my perspective drawings.

WEEK 5:

This week the teacher asked us to look for some future movie materials on the website for reference, and draw the reference content on the draft paper. However, my understanding may be a bit wrong. He always asked us to draw reference elements, but I always drew the buildings.

WEEK 6:

We had a class presentation this week, but the teacher felt unwell, so we ended the class early.

WEEK 7:

In this class, the teacher taught us some basic Photoshop skills, such as how to create a new canvas, how to paint on the canvas, and asked us to draw a few scenes based on all the sketches in week 5 to pave the way for subsequent homework.

WEEK 8:

This week is a self-study week. Since my grasp of Photoshop is too weak, I went to the website for further study and continued to complete the draft task assigned by the teacher.

WEEK 9:

This week I showed my preliminary draft to my teacher, who said I still needed to make changes, that I should pay attention to the distance between buildings, and that I should add more elements to enrich the picture.

WEEK 10:

The content of the 10th week is to try to draw the interior design of a main object. He wants us to draw sketches on butter paper and then digitize them in Photoshop, so that the ideas are clear, and we need to enrich the details of the interior, which is a big challenge.

WEEK 11:

This week I showed my interior design to my teacher. He said that my interior design might still be more modern and lack technology. He suggested that I add a few robots.

WEEK 12:

This week, the class was cancelled due to an emergency at the teacher's home, so I tried to add some color to the interior design drawing.

WEEK 13:

In the 13th week, I had completed the line drawing of the outdoor design. The teacher asked us to import it into Photoshop for coloring.
WEEK 14:

To make the coloring safer, I used multiple layers to lighten the color and added the atmosphere color.

WEEK 15:

After completing the above two works, the teacher gave us a new task: we need to add stories to the two works and make posters on A2 size paper.

Title: "Oasis Adventures: The Promise Between Ali and the Future"

Content :

In the distant future, the Earth has undergone tremendous changes.

The mountains and rivers that were once familiar are still magnificent, but many fantastic elements have been added. Buildings with unique shapes are suspended in the air, some of them look like blooming flowers, and some look like upside-down dishes, shining with strange light under the sunlight. There are also some small aircraft floating in the air, like smart birds, flying freely. A clear river meanders, and a crystal clear bridge is built on the river, as if it is a work of art woven by nature and technology. On both sides of the river, dense vegetation is lush and green, and various exotic flowers and plants compete for beauty, as if telling the magic and beauty of this era.

Young explorer Ellie finished an outdoor adventure and walked into the "Heart of Oasis" tiredly. As soon as she sat down, the reception robot came up to her warmly and recommended a special drink to her. While tasting the drink, Ellie admired the surrounding scenery, and the amazing outdoor technology and nature fusion appeared in her mind.

Just then, the alarm sounded suddenly. It turned out that the outdoor ecological monitoring system found an abnormality. Ellie immediately got up and decided to go and find out. Under the guidance of the robot, she quickly found the problem-the energy device of a suspended building failed, causing energy leakage and affecting the surrounding plants. With rich knowledge and experience, Ellie quickly repaired the device.

When Ellie returned to the "Heart of Oasis", the hall was thunderous with applause. It turned out that her every move was recorded by the robot and projected on the big screen in real time. People thanked her and expressed their respect, and Ellie also made many like-minded friends.

Since then, Ellie has become more determined to explore the future world and protect the harmonious coexistence of nature and technology. She continues to embark on a new journey and embrace more unknown challenges and wonderful encounters.

REFERENCE :

Regarding this environmental design, I realized that design is an iterative process. Environmental design is not only environmental design, but also needs to consider user feelings. When we are creating, we can make some drafts on butter paper, which plays a huge role in our subsequent creation. And when you want to create something new, you need to break out of your inherent thinking. You can't always be limited to one thing or one object. Brainstorm in your mind and constantly conceive and make iterative changes to the involved aspects. Only in this way can you get a good design. Although there are many challenges this semester, I have persisted and learned many new skills. I look forward to learning in the future.
