3D Modeling: Project 3 (Final) - Character Modeling
1.Modeling the Head
I started with a basic sphere and used proportional editing to adjust its shape, gradually forming the fox’s head. I then marked the positions for the eyes and nose to define the facial features.
2.Body and Limbs
To make the body and limbs look seamless, I extended the lower part of the head downward to create the body. Using the Extrude tool, I modeled the legs directly from the body, keeping them minimal and unified with the overall design.
3.Tail Design
The tail is one of the key elements of this model. I used the curve tool to draw the tail’s shape, ensuring smoothness and a natural arc. After finalizing the shape, I converted it to a mesh and applied a gradient material to give the tip a soft white highlight.
4.Adding Materials and Colors
Using Blender’s material node system, I created simple gradient textures for each part of the fox. The head and body feature a gradient from orange to white, while the tail emphasizes a smooth transition from orange to white at the tip.
5.Rendering and Background
To enhance the fox’s cute and vibrant look, I chose a green gradient background. For lighting, I used a soft spotlight from above to highlight the model’s overall shape and contours.
