Week 11 :

This week the teacher introduced us to mood boards and recommended us to use the Pinterest website to find inspiration. We completed our own mood boards and programmers in class. We also gave the scene a name and provided a simple introduction. This area has detailed divisions and activities

Reference:

In class, I showed the mood board I made to the teacher. The teacher said I could find some elements for reference. My misunderstanding was that it was limited to one scene or thing, so I made another one, as above.

Week 12:

Design Concept
The design theme this time is leisure and learning, mainly using plant elements to relax the mood and regular rhythm to improve efficiency.

Mainly using streamlines and circles to form a semi-open space, making the space coherent and transparent

Material:

Mainly using lighter wooden materials, which can be reused and convenient for transportation and assembly.

Because it is mainly interactive design, this time I mainly designed several interactive chairs based on big trees as prototypes. Combined with the structure of the umbrella, the seats can achieve a shrinking function and save space. The sketch is as follows:

It was my first design, but I thought it was too simple, so I designed two more:

Reference:
After completing these two, the teacher said that these two can be used as assistants, but I still need to find a theme that is more eye-catching and eye-catching, so I started to redesign again, because this time there are a lot of things in the design. Trees tend to be more natural, so I plan to use flowers as the prototype.

After I showed this design to my teacher, he felt that it still looked too much like a flower. I could change the material to stainless steel, so I changed the design.

After completing this, I started experimenting with the layout and interior shape of the sofa.

Week 13:

Initial environment modeling:

After I showed this model to the teacher, the teacher said that I should first build the main object in the middle, something eye-catching. So far, there is no problem.

Week 14:

Final modeling:

Week 15:

Based on previous ideas and teacher’s suggestions, I decided to use wooden materials and stainless steel materials for rendering.

This is the effect rendered using blender, but I didn’t think it was very good, so I used lumion recommended by the teacher.

While using LUMION, there were some minor incidents. Some blender materials could not be imported, so I rendered them again using.

Final Presentation Board:

After completing this space design, I reflected deeply and identified many key directions that need to be improved and enhanced.

This design exposed many problems. The biggest mistake was the underestimation of noise. Although the semi-open space has advantages, it also makes the sound propagation almost unimpeded, and the external interference sound seriously affects the concentration during learning. This is due to the lack of consideration in the early stage of the design, the acoustic factors were not included in the key considerations, and no sound insulation or sound absorption measures were taken.

From the software operation level, the lack of proficiency in Blender modeling greatly limits the accurate presentation of design ideas. The construction of complex shapes takes a long time and it is difficult to achieve the expected effect, resulting in some design details not being perfectly displayed. In terms of rendering effects, Lumion software, because I did not have a deep understanding of its functions, I was unable to give full play to the advantages of the software, and the spatial light and shadow effects and material texture presented were different from the actual ideas.

In the future, I will actively improve these problems. In terms of acoustic design, I will study the relevant knowledge in depth and plan sound absorption and sound insulation solutions in advance, such as using sound-absorbing materials to decorate walls and installing double-layer soundproof glass. At the same time, invest more time in practicing Blender modeling, familiarize yourself with various tools and operating techniques, and improve the efficiency and quality of model building; delve deeply into Lumion software and learn advanced rendering techniques in order to present design effects more realistically and create better quality space design works.
